Set up a Post Script Printer -- Windows
Before proceeding, be sure to have the following available:
1. AdobePS Printer Driver v4.4 or higher for Windows 9x (or v5.5.1 for Windows NT 4.0)
2. Acrobat Distiller PPD
Setting up AdobePS Printer for Windows
- Launch the setup utility for AdobePS Printer Driver from the Drivers folder on your Acrobat CD or a downloaded version from the Adobe website.
- Follow the online instructions to progress through the introduction and accept the license agreement.
- Choose Local Printer as your printer type, and click Next.
- Select FILE: in the list of ports, and click Next
- Locate the Xtras folder in your Acrobat Distiller folder and select an Acrobat Distiller PPD from the list. If you downloaded an updated Acrobat Distiller PPD, locate and select this as your PPD. Click Next.
- Once you have selected the Acrobat Distiller PPD, you will returned to the Select Printer Model dialog box with Acrobat Distiller added to the list of printer choices. Highlight Acrobat Distiller printer and click Next.
- Follow the remaining online instructions to complete the setup. Click Exit when you are finished.
